Karen is a qualified person centred counsellor. She is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and holds a degree in Social Policy, Health and Psychology.
Karen appreciates the courage it can take to begin the therapeutic journey by reaching out for help. She aims to provide her clients with a calm, nurturing and non-judgemental space within which her clients feel comfortable enough to explore whichever issues have brought them to therapy. She works with clients on an open-ended basis and places a high value on client autonomy.
Karen has had experience in supporting adult clients from a variety of backgrounds who have presented with issues including: abuse, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, loss, relationships, self-esteem, sexuality, work-related stress. In addition to her work with adults Karen also has experience of counselling students in a secondary school setting.
